There has been a major success in the construction of the country’s first bullet train. Construction of 300 km of Viadct (upper bridge route) has been completed under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-speed Rail Project (MAHSR).

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about this big achievement through a video clip on X (first Twitter) on 20 May.

🔧 What is a Viadct?

To run the bullet train at a high speed, reduce the problem of land acquisition and protect it from crossings, this entire track is being prepared on the viaduct made at height. These large concrete are made with Gardar and support.

🇮🇳 “J-Slab” track technology for the first time in India

Japan’s Shinkansen technology is being used in this project. The J-Slab Ballastless track is first laid in Surat. It is considered a very strong and ideal technique for speed.

🏞 Rivers also work on rivers

Viaders have been prepared at the 6 major rivers of Gujarat – Par, Poorna, Mindola, Ambika, Auranga and Vengania. These rivers are located in Navsari and Valsad districts.

🏗 Other construction also in progress

The 350 meter long hill tunnel has been completed in Valsad.

The 70 meter long first steel bridge is ready in Surat.

Noise barriers are also being installed in many sections.
