Dehradun: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, an organization ‘Hindu Raksha Dal’ has threatened Kashmiri students living in Dehradun and asked them to leave the state immediately. Kashmiri students, who have been contacted by the threats made through the video released on social media forums, have demanded security by contacting the police. However, seeing such social media posts, the police, which came into action, has also been alerted.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh, Dehradun, said that after receiving complaints in this regard, he has interacted with the officers and in -charge of various police stations and instructed them to be vigilant and keep in touch with Kashmiri students.
Police removed social media posts
Singh said that in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack, Kashmiri students, in the educational institutions where they are studying or wherever they are living as a paying guest (PG), have been asked to inform the police immediately if they have any kind of threat to their safety. He said that more than two dozen objectionable social media posts have also been removed.
SSP met Kashmiri students, assured security
Naseer Khuhami, a combination of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Union, said that he has told about the ‘ultimatum’ given by the members of the Hindu Raksha Dal to Kashmiri students from Uttarakhand’s DGP Deepam Seth to the Kashmiri students and left the state. He said that we have been told that an FIR has been lodged and arrest will be made soon. SSP of Dehradun himself also met Kashmiri students living in various areas like Premnagar, Sudhowala, Nanda Ki Chowki and Selakui and assured them of security. (With language inputs)
