New Delhi. A letter petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of two doctors regarding the Ahmedabad aircraft accident. It has been requested that the Supreme Court take automatic cognizance in the aircraft accident case and order to the Central Government to give immediate compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the families of the deceased (including the deceased Rejidant Doctors of BJ Medical College). A letter petition on behalf of Dr. Dhruv Chauhan and Dr. Sourav Kumar has also demanded that the Central Government should constitute a high level expert committee to investigate an incident. This committee includes retired judges, aviation experts, economists and insurance experts of the Supreme Court or High Court.
Advocate Satyam Singh Rajput, who filed a letter petition on behalf of the doctors, said that the letter petition has also raised the demand to direct the Supreme Court Air India Limited to settle the compensation claims at the earliest, so that the victims do not have to face long -running legal process. Apart from this, there has been a demand to direct the family of the deceased to the Central Government to help in employment opportunities and their rehabilitation.

Let us tell you that Air India flight AI171 crashed soon after flying from Ahmedabad to London. Out of 242 people aboard the aircraft, only 1 survived and 241 died. The aircraft crashed over the building of the hostel of the BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad. Due to this, a total of 24 other people including the residents present there were also killed. In this way, the total number of dead in the plane crash increased to 265. Many local citizens have also been injured who are admitted to the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.
