In view of the increasing number of devotees during the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh administration has issued new baths and transport rules. The purpose of these rules is to ensure mob management and safe experience for all.
Areas fixed for bath:
Devotees coming from the parade fair area: Sangam and the parade area can bathe at the ghats.
Devotees coming from Jhunsi fair area: will use bathing ghats in Jhunsi area.
Devotees coming from Arail region: Will bathe at the ghats of Arail region.
Transport Rules:
The entire Mahakumbh region has been declared a ‘no vehicle’ zone. Only the fair is allowed to enter vehicles approved by the fair police. All other vehicles have to be parked at scheduled parking sites. Emergency services, such as ambulances, food supply and logistic vehicles, are free from this rule.
Special Train Services:
For the convenience of devotees, Northern Railway has announced to run special Vande Bharat trains between Varanasi (Prayagraj) on 15, 16, and 17 February. Train number 02252 will depart from New Delhi at 5:30 am and reach Varanasi at 2:20 pm, while train number 02251 will run from Varanasi at 3:15 pm and reach New Delhi at 11:50 pm.
The administration has appealed to all the devotees to follow these rules and cooperate in ensuring safe and easy travel.
