Special Railway Plan
In the second royal bath of Mahakumbh, 7 to 8 crore devotees were already estimated to reach. Keeping this in mind, the Railways had prepared a special plan. As part of the railway strategy, Mouni Amavasya was operated only by special trains going out of Prayagraj, while no special train from other cities came to Prayagraj. However, regular trains continued to run according to their scheduled schedule.
A total of 14 fairs have been run via Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhusi stations by 07.00 am on January 30, 2025 to bring the devotees who came to Mahakumbh to their destination.

A huge crowd of devotees at stations
After the second royal bath, the inundation of devotees flocked towards Prayagraj railway stations. This day was very busy for railway officials. Due to good arrangements and proper management, the operation of trains continued smoothly. However, more than two dozen trains of other routes had to be canceled due to heavy pressure.
Significantly, Mahakumbh is working on special schemes for 2025 in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Under this strategy, trains were arranged for Mauni Amavasya bathing, so that the devotees do not cause any inconvenience. Similar comprehensive preparations will be made during the next important bath of Mahakumbh.
