More than two crore people took a dip in the Ganges and Sangam till 6 pm on Wednesday on the fifth bathing festival of Mahakumbh, Maghi Purnima. During this time, the government made a wreath to the devotees who bathe. Since early morning, devotees including women, men, elderly and children from all four directions continue to arrive towards Ganga and Sangam Ghat.

According to data released by the fair administration, more than two crore people took a bath in Sangam and Ganga till 6 pm on Wednesday. More than 48.25 crore people have bathed here since January 13 from the beginning of Mahakumbh. All Kalpavis have been requested to follow traffic rules and use only authorized parking.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath monitored the fair area from the war room in his official residence in Lucknow from four o’clock on Wednesday morning. He was accompanied by DGP Prashant Kumar, Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad and other officials.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Maghi Purnima and said on ‘X’, “Heartfelt greetings of all the revered saints, religious leaders, Kalpavasis and devotees who attended the holy Triveni in Mahakumbh today. With the grace of Lord Shri Hari, there is a habit of happiness, prosperity and good fortune in everyone’s life. Mother Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati fulfill all the desire, this is the wish.

Meanwhile, former cricketer Anil Kumble took a bath in the confluence with his wife Chetna Ramatirtha like ordinary devotees. Without a VIP protocol, he went to the boat with his wife and offered Arghya to Suryadev along with bathing. Similarly, film actor Sunil Shetty also took a dip in the Sangam and described the arrangements made by the government amazing.

Former Norwegian Climate and Environment Minister Eric Solhem, who came to attend the Mahakumbh, described Mahakumbh as the largest human conference of history and said, “There was no bigger event in human history.”

Meanwhile, the resolve of about 10 lakh Kalpavasis who were doing Kalpavas at the Mahakumbh Mela is completed today with the Maghi Purnima bath and they are starting to depart for their respective homes.

Rajendra Mishra, founder of Triveni Sangam Aarti Seva Samiti and pilgrim priest Rajendra Mishra said, “The resolve of Kalpavasi who resolved Kalpavas on the previous Purnima is being completed today. He pledged to follow all Yama, rules and restraint, ideal sattvic life literally for a month, to sleep on the land, bathe three times, make food himself, eat food at one time, donate proper donation and listen to the speech of the Guru. Was.”

He told, “Today they will be freed from the resolution by worshiping the mother Ganga, by donating the lamp and will leave for their homes in view of the direction. If someone departs today, then someone will depart tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. In two-three days, all Kalpasis will leave. “

Madan Gopal Shukla, who came to Kalpavas from Gorakhpur, said, “Today our Kalpavas is being completed. Kalpavas was very good .. There was no inconvenience. For the last four years, we have been doing Kalpavas. Every year I do Kalpavas to dedicate my inner fortunes to the Ganges. For the first time in Kalpavas, I (Surti) left the consumption of tobacco and left something else next time. ”

SSP Kumbh Rajesh Dwivedi said, “The movement of devotees is running smoothly and we are cautious in all the crowds. We have strengthened all the arrangements this time. ”

The Uttar Pradesh government has also launched Operation Chaturbhuj to ensure the safety of devotees, under which the security has been increased by the Integrated Command and Control Center monitoring the fair with 2,750 high -tech cameras, drones and anti -drones.

According to officials, the private and public vehicles of the devotees coming to Prayagraj have been parked in the parking of the related route from four o’clock on February 11 so that there is no traffic chaos in the city and devotees can reach the bathing ghats easily.

He said that to facilitate the movement of devotees, the administration has also declared the entire Prayagraj city as ‘no vehicle zone’ from 5:00 pm on February 11. Only emergency services will be exempted from this ban.

Srinivas from Andhra Pradesh said, “Looks good here. The government has made good arrangements. Thank you very much to Yogi and Modi ji. Everyone has come to bathe on Maghi Purnima. There is a feeling of pride when he comes here and being a Hindu. “

Another devotee Gayatri said, “I am very happy to come here on this auspicious occasion. The UP government has created a very good atmosphere. ”

Officials said that the state’s transport department has installed additional 1200 shuttle buses for the fair which will be available to the devotees every 10 minutes.

The Mahakumbh Mela will be held on 26 February with a bath of Mahashivaratri. On January 29, 30 people died and 60 people were injured in a stampede on Mauni Amavasya.
