Maharashtra election result-Mahayuti’s big victory
The results of the assembly elections held for 288 seats in Maharashtra are almost out, in which the Mahayuti (BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP) alliance has got a landslide victory and the alliance is returning to power. On the other hand, the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) has suffered a crushing defeat. The storm of BJP’s victory was such that the politics of former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who calls himself the real Shiv Sena, and NCP chief Sharad Pawar have suffered a major blow. The condition of this alliance in this election has become such that veteran leaders are no longer even fit to become leaders of the opposition. Know 10 big reasons
Apart from the tussle for seats in Mahavikas Aghadi and showing its supremacy, internal strife and factionalism dominated the parties. The disagreement became so much that everything came in front of the public. The victory of Mahayuti not only shows the strength and unity of the alliance. The BJP made strong electoral ground with the pairing of Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde and the leaders did not highlight any differences before the public.
In the last few years, the popularity of Mahavikas Aghadi’s main parties Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP has declined in Maharashtra. These parties have also lost credibility especially among the voters. On the other hand, BJP’s popularity has increased and trust has also increased, an example of which was visible in the Lok Sabha elections also.
The split of Shiv Sena and then the split of NCP was a big thing for the politics of Maharashtra. BJP got the benefit of division of both the parties, a part of both the parties stood with BJP and BJP gave full respect. While demonstrating opposition unity, the foundation of India Alliance was laid in which Maharashtra played an important role but this alliance turned out to be weak.
There was a leadership crisis in the Congress, the consequences of which it had to suffer in the Lok Sabha and in the Legislative Assemblies of many states. In this election too, Congress’s inability to take an immediate decision regarding seat sharing in the Mahavikas Aghadi was also a major reason for its defeat. Whereas BJP’s efficient leadership and election management was the important reason for its victory.
In Mahavikas Aghadi, the leadership is in the hands of senior leaders and also had to face the allegation of nepotism, whereas in Mahayuti, the leadership is in the hands of youth and there importance was given to organization and alliance. Young leaders also performed their responsibilities well, this was also a factor.
When Mahavikas Aghadi was in power, the public had accused the development works of not being carried out smoothly and had put forward the failure of the government. The public did not want the return of such a government. Whereas Shinde has appreciated the development work of the government and the schemes of the government, especially the Ladki Behan scheme and has voted for victory.
Mahavikas Aghadi neither presented any special schemes to attract voters before the elections, nor was their election campaign effective. BJP, along with the alliance, presented its strong narrative to the public and made many promises with mutual coordination.
Along with balancing caste equations and development politics, Mahayuti also worked on social media engineering. While the BJP gained ground through its organized cadre and strong campaigning, the Mahavikas Aghadi failed to manage the caste equations.
The enthusiasm of the workers along with the leaders of Mahayuti also remained at its peak whereas the workers became discouraged due to lack of coordination among the leaders in Mahavikas Aghadi.
It is now time for big leaders like Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar in Mahavikas Aghadi to introspect after the defeat. The weakness of the big faces of opposition politics has been exposed, while the excitement is at its peak due to this big victory of Mahayuti. The victory achieved due to PM Modi’s leadership and better election strategy and the impact of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s slogan of Batenge to Katenge is clearly visible.
