In Beed district of Maharashtra, a mosque allegedly exploded due to gelatin rods kept by a person at a mosque late on Saturday night. Police gave this information.
Police said that no person died in the incident in Ard Masla village of Gavarai tehsil at around two and a half hours. It said that the internal part of the building has been damaged by this explosion. Officials said two people have been caught in this connection.
There is a tension in the village due to the incident. Officials said strict security arrangements have been made in the village. Officials said a person entered the back of the mosque and allegedly put some gelatin rods there which caused the explosion.
The village head informed the Talwada police about the incident at around four in the morning. Officials said the inner part of the mosque was damaged due to the explosion.
After receiving the information of the incident, Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kawant and other senior officials reached the spot. The official said that a team of forensic scientists along with bomb disposal squad has also reached the spot.
Kanwat said that Beed police have arrested two people in connection with the explosion inside the mosque. He said that a case has been registered against the accused and strict action will be taken against them as per law.
Kanwat appealed to the people not to spread rumors and help the police in maintaining law and order.
