The Maldives National Defense Force said on Friday that he presented the traditional ‘Hyakolhhu’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is a prestigious Maldives sign of hospitality and honor.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was awarded the Guard of Honor by MNDF. In a post on Ax, MNDF said, “His Excellency Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by His Excellency President Dr. Mohammad Muizu at the Republic Square on the state visit to Maldives, where he was honored with the Guard of Honor by MNDF.”
The MNDF said, “His Excellency Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was given a formal honor guards by MNDF on reaching Maldives, which is the beginning of an important state visit at the liberal invitation of His Excellency President Dr. Mohammad Muizu.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu held a meeting in Male. The meeting was held after the formal reception of Prime Minister Modi on the Republic Square.
Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to Maldives at the invitation of President Mujju and will attend the 60th Independence Day celebrations of the country as the chief guest. Countryside Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that the yatra is a symbol of completion of 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Maldives.
The President of Maldives said in a post on X, “The Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, was formally welcomed during the state visit to Maldives.
His Excellency President Dr. Mohammad Muizzu welcomed the Prime Minister on the Republic Square, where students of Aminia School performed cultural dances. MNDF gave 21 cannon salute to the Prime Minister, after which he inspected the Guard of Honor.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also met the cabinet ministers and officials of Maldives on the Republic Square. On this occasion, a huge picture of Prime Minister Modi was prominently displayed at the Defense Ministry building in Male.
