New Delhi. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday, September 10 invited the agitating junior doctors for a meeting at the state secretariat Nabanna to end the deadlock in the RG Kar Medical College case. In an email sent by the government, the junior doctors were appealed to come to Nabanna for an immediate meeting, where the Chief Minister herself is ready to talk to them.
As part of this government initiative, an email was sent to the junior doctors from Nabanna asking them to come for the meeting on the same day if possible as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to meet them.
Junior doctors called the email objectionable
However, the protesting junior doctors termed the email sent by the government as objectionable. They said that they would not accept such language and behavior. Due to this, the doctors refused to attend any meeting.
The doctors say that they are firm on their demands and the indefinite sit-in protest in front of the Health Building will continue. On Tuesday, they made it clear that they will sit on the protest all night and will not be a part of any government meeting until their demands are heard properly.
Mamata Banerjee instructed ministers to avoid making statements
Meanwhile, during the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed all ministers not to make any statement regarding the doctors’ agitation. She made it clear that any statement made on this issue will be only on behalf of the Chief Minister.
