This passenger was arrested by Air Custom on 4 March. Earlier on March 3, Kannada actress Ranya Rao was caught by DRI. Ranya Rao had 14.2 kg of gold. At the same time, now 3999.22 grams of gold worth more than 3.44 crore has been recovered from the passenger who was caught. You will be surprised to know about this passenger who smuggled gold.
According to custom officials, the passenger who was caught smuggling gold at Kempe Gowda International in Bengaluru is visually impaired. That is, he does not see it. This passenger reached Bangalore from Dubai. The Air Custom was informed that the visually impaired passengers were bringing illegal gold. At this he was stopped while leaving. When Air Custom officials investigated the passenger, the gold was hidden under his shirt. Custom officers were surprised that even a visible person is smuggling gold from Dubai! A case was registered against this passenger and sent to jail.
A day before this seizure, Ranya Rao got gold worth 12.56 crore. Ranya Rao kept this gold on her body. Some gold was in Ranya Rao’s jacket. The DRI then raided Ranya Rao’s flat. There was a gold jewelery worth 2.1 crore and Rs 2 crore cash from there. Actually, Ranya Rao had gone to Dubai 30 times in the last 1 year. She returned 4 times in the last 15 days to Dubai. After getting this information, the ears of DRI officers stood up. A Constable of Karnataka Police was also helping Ranya Rao. Ranya’s father is a DG rank officer in Karnataka Police.
