In Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh, nine people were killed and 12 others were injured when a mango -laden mini truck overturned on a mini truck.
According to the police, the mango -laden truck was going from Thallapka village of Rajmipat Mandal to Kodur, and the workers were sitting on the mango box on the truck. The truck overturned while climbing the embankment of Reddypalli pond on NH-716.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep grief over the death of nine people after a mango -laden overturned near Reddyacheruvu Katta in Pulmpet Mandal in Annamayya district late on Sunday night.
The Chief Minister inquired from the officials about the cause of the accident. Officials told them that when the accident happened late on Sunday night, the victims were going from Rajmpet to Railway Koduru. In addition, he also stated that proper medical treatment is being provided to the injured.
The Chief Minister assured that the government would provide full assistance to the families of the dead. He instructed the officials to ensure quality medical care for those injured in the accident.
Along with Chandrababu Naidu, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has also expressed grief over the lorry accident. In addition, Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazir expressed deep grief and pain over the road accident on Sunday night.
Subsequently, Nazir directed the district administration to provide better medical facilities to the injured persons and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
Annamayya district Superintendent of Police (SP) V Vidyasagar Naidu told PTI-Bhasha, “The trucks fell on the left side of the truck.
Four of the 12 injured are in critical condition. He has been referred to a hospital in Kadappa district, while the rest is undergoing treatment in the local hospital.
In his complaint lodged with the police, complainant N Shiv Kumar said, “The driver lost control due to driving at a high speed. My wife and others got stuck under the vehicle and died immediately.”
A case was registered at the Pulmpet police station under the relevant sections of the BNS and the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.
The police has started investigation. The remaining people have accused the driver of negligence. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the accident.
He directed the officers to ensure quality medical care for the injured persons.
The Chief Minister said in a press release, “It is sad that poor laborers lost their lives while returning home from work. The government will provide full help to the families of the dead.”
Governor S Abdul Nazir also mourned the dead. In a press release, Nazir said, “I am very sad about the loss of life and property in this tragic accident. I have heartbreaking condolences to the families of the deceased and I pray for the injured to get well soon.”
