South-west monsoon started

Lightning is likely to fall and strong wind. Pre-monsoon rains may occur in many districts on 14-15 May, which will provide some relief from the heat.
Lu’s havoc in Uttar Pradesh
Lu has been running in Uttar Pradesh since 14 May. On May 15, its effect will also be seen in western UP. According to the Meteorological Department, this heat can run till May 20. A warning has been issued in districts like Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Deoria. The temperature can go above 44 degrees.
Rajasthan’s condition
Sikar and surrounding areas of Rajasthan have received dusty storm and light rain. However, in some parts of western Rajasthan, the temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees in the next days. Lu is alert in Jodhpur and Bikaner.
What will be the benefit of pre-monsoon?
Pre-monsoon rain will help in preparing crop sowing and people will get relief from the fall in temperature. The sooner the monsoon reaches, the better it will be in terms of farming and water supply.
