New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have expressed grief over the demise of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha. Apart from these, many other leaders have also expressed grief over the demise of Sharda by tweeting on X handle. PM Modi wrote on his X handle, I am deeply saddened by the demise of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha.

My condolences to his family

PM Modi said that Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs sung by Sharda have been very popular for the last several decades. The echo of his melodious songs related to the great festival of faith, Chhath, will also remain forever. His demise is an irreparable loss to the music world. My thoughts are with his family and fans in this hour of mourning.

At the same time, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has issued a statement on the demise of folk singer Sharda Sinha. CM Nitish said that he has expressed deep condolences on the demise of Sharda Sinha, who was awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Bihar Kokila Sharda Sinha was a famous folk singer. Apart from Maithili, Bajjika, Bhojpuri, he also sang Hindi songs. He also lent his melodious voice in many Hindi films.

For his contribution to the world of music, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri in 1991 and Padma Bhushan in 2018. The melodious songs sung by late Sharda Sinha in a melodious voice on the occasion of Chhath festival resonate in all parts of the country including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. His demise has caused an irreparable loss in the field of music.

At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also expressed grief over the demise of Sharda Sinha. He tweeted and said that he is extremely saddened by the demise of Sharda Sinha, who gave new heights to Indian music for more than five decades with her melodious voice. Sharda Sinha, famous as Bihar Kokila, made Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs a hit among the masses and continued to mesmerize the film world as a playback singer. The folk rituals of Purvanchal seem incomplete without their voices. On this Chhath festival, his voice will definitely make the devotees even more emotional.

Many leaders including Deputy CM expressed grief

Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha said that the demise of Bihar’s nightingale Sharda Sinha is an irreparable loss to the folk culture and heritage of Bihar. The great festival of Chhath is incomplete without his songs. May God rest his soul in peace and give his family the strength to bear this loss.

At the same time, JDU leader Neeraj Kumar said that Sharda’s demise is very sad… What a coincidence it is that the singer who took the song of ‘Chhathi Maiya’ to every home of the country, breathed her last on the occasion of ‘Nahay Khay’. . On the other hand, RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari says that the demise of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha is very sad. He left his indelible mark in folk singing in the country. I pray to God that his soul rests in peace.
