Many schools in the national capital received a bomb threats in the early hours of Monday. According to the police, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School and Sri Ram World School at Sector 10, Dwarka were threatened through an email ID.
As a safety measure, schools were immediately evacuated. Police and bomb disposal teams reached the spot and started a thorough search of the premises.
Although the previous two bomb threats proved to be false, the security agencies are taking today’s call seriously and following all the necessary protocols. Further information about the incident is still awaited.
Earlier in July, after receiving information about the bomb threats, fire departments and Delhi Police were deployed in many other schools in the national capital including Richmond Global School in West Vihar, Sovereign School located at Rohini Sector 24, Modern International School in Dwarka Sector 19 and Heritage School at Rohini Sector 23.
Principal of Richmond Global School Moupali Mitra said that he had informed the police commissioner a few minutes after receiving an email threatened by the bomb this morning. He further stated that with the help of bomb disposal squad and other teams, explosives of every corner of the school were examined and everything was found safe.
He said, “We are monitoring every kind of message. We got an email threatened at 10:52 am and we sent an email to the Police Commissioner at 10:58 am. The bomb disposal squad and other teams immediately reached. We checked every corner of the school and found that the school is completely safe. We are taking all the necessary steps to ensure safety of children.”
Mitra told ANI, “Some anti -social people are spreading such rumors and we all should stand against them. The school is working normally.”
Police said on 18 July that similarly, three colleges of Delhi University have also received bomb threats via email. According to the police, IP College for Women, Hindu College and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) have received bomb threats via email.
