Till now Maharashtra was struggling with linguistic war, but Maratha reservation can also become a major issue in the state in the coming times. Maratha agitator Manoj Jarang has once again announced to raise the issue of reservation. Jarange accused the Maharashtra government of failing to fulfill its promise. Along with this, he warned the government to sit on a hunger strike in Mumbai on August 29.
Talking to the media, Manoj Jarage said that the government has cheated the Maratha community. Even before this, he has gone on hunger strike many times. He is a major face of the Maratha reservation movement. They demand that all the Maratha community get the status of ‘Kunbi’, which is an agricultural caste. It has a huge political influence in the state. They demand that all the Maratha community get reservation in education and employment.
Manoj Jarange demands that Bombay, Satara and Hyderabad gadgets be brought into implementation as soon as possible. This gadget is actually the gazettes issued by the Government of Maharashtra, which have recorded historical documents related to the Maratha community and evidence related to caste identity. In this, some stories of the Maratha community have been given the status of Kunbi caste. Jaran will demand that all Maratha community be included in it.
Jarang said that the government agreed to our four demands but it has not yet been landed on the ground. The government has again cheated the Maratha society. He appealed to all the people of the Maratha community to finish all their work in the next two months and gather in Mumbai. He said, “We were showing patience for the last two years. But now the time has come to get up. I want to tell all the Marathas not to sit silent. We have to fight for our rights.”
He criticized the administration for failing to issue a government gazette in relation to SEZ Soyre notification and not implementing the Gazettes of Bombay, Satara and Hyderabad.
