Public Curfew
New Delhi: Many important events have been recorded on the date of March 22 in history. In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to impose ‘Janata Curfew’ in view of the outbreak of Kovid-19 epidemic in 2020. On an appeal by PM Modi, Indians had imprisoned themselves in their homes and then in the evening, for the Korona warriors, 5 minutes clapped and a plate was played. The day of 22 March 2020 is known as Janata Curfew.
Persian army had slaughtered in Delhi
Faras’s army was slaughtered in the Mughal capital Delhi on this day, centuries ago. In fact, in March 1739, Persia (now Iran) king Nadir Shah attacked India and the Mughal army was badly defeated in the battle in Karnal.
Nadir Shah was captured by Delhi after the Mughal defeat. When Nadir Shah reached the Red Fort with his Lashkar Lashkar, riots erupted here and people killed many soldiers of his army. Angry with this, Nadir Shah ordered a ‘slaughter’ in Delhi and in many areas of today’s Old Delhi, his army killed the common people. This phenomenon is known as ‘slaughter common’ in history.
