The Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army have reported the martyrdom of a JK police jawan in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army appreciated the bravery of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in an encounter with terrorists.
The Army said in a post on X, “The Rising Star Corps salutes the brave police personnel of Jammu and Kashmir, who made the highest sacrifice while fighting bravely during the ongoing operations in Kathua. Their courage and dedication will always be remembered.”

Earlier, there was news of firing between security forces and terrorists in Kathua district. Firing occurred during an anti -terrorism campaign by security forces in Sufan area of Kathua.
The Indian Army said that the security forces have laid siege to the area and the search operation is going on. Police officials said that there was a firing incident in the same area after some terrorists were seen on Thursday.
Earlier on March 23, there was news of firing in Hiranagar area of Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir when security forces were conducting search operations. After this, the soldiers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army started a joint campaign based on intelligence in Hiranagar in Kathua.
Rising Star Corps, the Indian Army said in a social media post on X, “Based on the presence of terrorists, on the basis of intelligence input, on 23 March 25, a joint campaign has been launched by soldiers of @jmukmrpolice and #risingstar Corps in Sanial Hiranagar region. Operation is in progress.”
On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag searched several places across the district in connection with the investigation of banned terrorist organizations. This development has happened at a time when security related concerns have increased in the region, as security forces are continuously working to prevent terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
