New Delhi. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has once again rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a weekly press briefing that the issue of trade or tariff was not raised in our conversation with the US during the war between India and Pakistan. There was no talk about this in any discussion. The Foreign Minister has already made it clear that the decision of ceasefire was taken through direct contact between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan.

On the Indo-US bilateral trade agreement, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs said that talks are going on. One of our teams recently went to America, so we have to wait till the conversation is completed and as soon as we will get any update, we will share it with you. Hopefully, things will be cleared soon but we have to be patient.

On the ban on visa interviews of foreign students by the US government and making the rules strict, Jaiswal said that the interest of Indian students abroad is the top priority for the Government of India. We are watching further developments in this regard. Although we believe that issuing visa is a sovereign task, we hope that Indian students’ applications will be considered on the basis of merit and they will be able to attend their educational programs on time.

Regarding the three Indian citizens who went missing in Iran, a spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs said that we are in touch with Iranian officials to find out, protect them and return home. We are getting good support from the Iranian side. We are also in touch with the families of missing people. We are helping all possible.
