Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Asha Nautiyal has made a big announcement before the Chardham Yatra starting in Uttarakhand from April 30. Meat-fish

MLA Asha Nautiyal said in a video that this was revealed in a meeting with local hotels, dhaba businessmen and people having horses-mules for recently preparations. He said that some people had raised the issue that non-Hindu people are involved in wrong activities like meat, fish and liquor trade there.

Ban on those who defame Dham

Congress objected

He said that being a public representative, it becomes his duty to put the demands raised by the local people on the appropriate platform and make sure that wrong activities are banned. The Uttarakhand unit of the Congress strongly condemned the MLA’s statement and said that spreading hatred in the name of festivals and religious visits is the BJP’s national agenda.

BJP is targeting minorities

Suryakant Dhasmana, senior vice president of the State Congress Committee, said, ‘Whether it is Mahakumbh Mela or Holi and Jumme prayers or upcoming Chardham Yatra, BJP on all occasions attempts to spoil the communal harmony of the country and the state by targeting minority Muslim society on the pretext of them. This is the BJP’s national agenda.

BJP diverts attention from real issues- Congress

He said that by doing so, the government wants to distract public attention from real issues like unemployment, inflation, law and order. Dhasmana has demanded the state government to conduct Chardham Yatra smoothly and to ensure the strict action against any kind of undesirable act, whether it is of any religion, caste or province.
