Proposals kept in the meeting of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind.
A meeting of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind’s Executive Committee was held in Delhi on 13 April. During this time, the working committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind expresses serious concern over the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. According to the committee, it is not only against many provisions of the Indian Constitution (Article 14, 15, 21, 25, 26, 29 and 300-A), but also an attempt to damage the original structure of Waqf. The most harmful aspect of this law is to cancel ‘Waqf by-User’, which has historically threatened the existence of religious places used as Waqf. According to government reports, the number of such assets is more than four lakhs.
Proposal on Waqf law
The committee further states that, “Similarly, the inclusion of non-Muslim people rather rather majority in the Central Waqf Parishad and State Waqf Board is an open intervention in religious matters, which is an open violation of Article 26 of the Indian Constitution. Such a law is a symbol of the dominance of the majority class, which we completely oppose it. It is not accepted in any situation. The spirit of the Constitution and its original concept are violating it.
The Executive Committee has expressed satisfaction that Hazrat Maulana Mahmood Asad Madni, president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, has challenged the law in the Supreme Court and urged that the services of senior lawyers should be taken for its effective lobbying in the court. The meeting has demanded from the Government of India that the Waqf Act 2025 be withdrawn immediately. The government should understand that Waqf is a fundamental part of Islamic law, which is taken from the Quran and Hadith. This is a religious work like the other other prayer. There can be no amendment that affects Waqf’s religious character and its Sharai base. The spirit of amendment should always be based on administrative reforms, as has been through some of the last few amendments.
Apart from this, the assembly has demanded from the government to avoid any kind of intervention in Sharai matters and enact a law that should ensure the safety of Waqf and restoration of its properties. Along with this, the Executive Committee has strongly condemned the misleading statements made by the government and opposition parties regarding Waqf properties and proposed amendments. The committee said that in response to such misleading propaganda spread in the media, all possible steps will be taken to present the right situation to the country. Along with this, it was also clarified that peaceful protests are a constitutional and fundamental right. No government has the right to stop it. It is extremely condemnable to stop those protesting against the Waqf Act, to take legal action against them and resort to violence by the administration. Similarly, violence during protests is also disappointing, which is indulging in violence during the protests, they are actually weakening this movement to protect Waqf. Everyone has appealed to all the faithful brothers to avoid all kinds of sins and evils and pray to Allah as much as possible.
Proposal on uniform civil code
The meeting of the Executive Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has considered the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand and the abolition of Muslim personal law as an open violation of religious rights. After Uttarakhand, now such news is also being received from other states that efforts are being made at the government level regarding the Uniform Civil Code, which is a matter of concern for the people at the national level. The Uniform Civil Code is not only a problem of Muslims, but it is related to various social groups, communities, castes and all classes of the country. The committee said, “Our country is the highest example of unity in diversity, whatever law will be made by ignoring our pluralism, it will have a direct impact on the unity and integrity of the country. It is the biggest reason for opposing the Uniform Civil Code in itself.”
The reason for the excessive sensitivity of Muslims towards Muslim personal law is that Islamic Sharia has influence on all areas of life and social and moral aspects. The guidelines of the Holy Quran have been determined by the creator of the universe and no change can be changed in them. The effort to abolish Muslim personal law or Muslim family laws is against the spirit of democracy and the guarantee provided in the Constitution of India. When the constitution of this country was being created, the Constituent Assembly guaranteed that religious matters of Muslims, especially their personal laws, would not be tampered with. This is the purpose and goal of Article 25 to 29 of the Indian Constitution.
The committee says, “This gathering of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind with the above objections regarding the Uniform Civil Code on this occasion considers it necessary to express it that the path of interference in the Sharia is paved only when Muslims themselves are not ready to follow Sharia. Muslims should be fully standing on the Islamic Sharia.
Proposal on violation of Supreme Court instructions
The meeting of the Executive Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has expressed deep concern over the bulldozer action being done by various state governments of the country, disregarding the directions of the Supreme Court. The committee says, “Although the Supreme Court has clearly directed that it is mandatory to provide an opportunity for the entire legal procedure, notice and hearing before any type of demolition, despite this disappointing tendency in recent times has seen that people, especially weak, deprived and related people related to people, are targeting homes and assets of people without any prior information or legal action.”
The gathering added, “This gathering understands that such actions not only violate the rule of law, but also weakens the fundamental principles of justice, equality and democracy on which our democratic system is based. The use of bulldozers weakens public confidence in state institutions and promotes arbitrary and refreshing actions. Those who were neglected by neglecting the prescribed legal rules demand that all constitutional institutions, especially the judiciary, should take notice of these violations and those responsible should be held accountable according to the law. “
It said, “In addition, the attention of the Central and State Governments is attracted to ensure complete compliance of constitutional principles and judicial instructions in every administrative action, especially in the tasks that are related to people’s lives, livelihood and self-esteem. Stand united to protect, whether they are related to any caste, religion or community. “
Proposal on Israel’s action on Palestine
The gathering of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has called Israeli’s repressive attitude, war crime and massacre of innocent Palestinians a serious crime against humanity. According to the gathering, “The ruthless killing of thousands of children, women and citizens is a symbol of anxious aspect and shameful apathy for influential global powers and international institutions. The House has expressed deep concern that the Israeli has not only made complete innovations in the pilgrimage areas, not only the pilgrimage needs in the war -based areas, in violation of the field There is also a complete restriction on the supply of crime, which is not only limited to the crime.
The gathering of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind further said, “This gathering believes that the United States is also an ally in these atrocities, which is continuously providing support to the aggressive Israeli government at all levels. Along with this, the cold attitude, inaction and ineffective ways of many Islamic countries are also disappointing and condemnable.”
In this situation, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has made the following demands-
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind strongly demands from the Government of India to play an active role in ensuring the ceasefire by immediately intervene on humanitarian grounds, taking concrete and effective measures to treat and care, especially injured Palestinians, and make every effort to provide basic human needs to the Palestinians surrounded in Gaza. The gathering demands that Israel be fined heavy for war crimes and serious violations of human rights and the affected Palestinian people should be given full financial compensation. The gathering appeals to the Government of India, Arabs League and all Islamic countries to put clear, united and effective diplomatic, political and legal pressure to prevent Israeli atrocities, so that the oppressive and colonial occupant can be punished for his offenses. The gathering appeals to the international community to initiate a serious, effective and useful effort for the establishment of an independent, sovereign state for Palestinians, and at the same time it is necessary to make it clear that no attempt to capture Israel on the Al-Aksa Mosque can be acceptable in any situation. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has always raised his voice for the freedom of the Palestinian people, their rights to self-determination and the struggle for their religious and human rights to protect them with God’s will.
