New Delhi. India’s fugitive diamond businessman Mehul Choksi is now slowly tightening the grip. After the arrest of Mehul Choksi in Belgium, action against him in India has also intensified. A Mumbai court has allowed the properties of Mehul Choksi to auction. By selling assets worth more than Rs 2,565 crore, the amount received will be kept in the name of the affected banks so that their funds can be returned to the victims. There are notices of ED, CBI and all banks on the walls outside several properties of Mehul Choksi.
ED seized 41 properties of Mehul Choksi and her company Geetanjali James Limited in 2018. Let us know that Choksi had escaped leaving India by cheating 13500 crores from Punjab National Bank. Recently he has been arrested in Belgium.
