Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sharmistha Mukherjee
Memorial of former President Pranab Mukherjee will be built in Delhi. The Central Government has approved the space to build Pranab Mukherjee’s memorial in the National Committee Complex. Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude for this. Sharmistha Mukherjee said that we had not even made any demand for this.
Congress was targeted regarding Manmohan Singh
Let us tell you that a few days ago, Sharmistha Mukherjee had targeted Congress regarding the last rites of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He had asked, today there is so much commotion but nothing was done for my Baba, even though he remained with Congress all his life.
After meeting PM Modi, Sharmistha Mukherjee wrote on X, “I met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Heartfelt thanks to him and his government that they have decided to build a memorial for my Baba (Pranab Mukherjee). This is also special because neither from our side nor anyone else had made any demand to the government to build Baba’s memorial. I am very impressed by this kind gesture of the Prime Minister.
‘Happiness cannot be expressed in words’
He further wrote, “Baba used to say that one should never ask for state honour, rather one should get it oneself. I am very grateful that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did this in Baba’s memory. It does not matter to Baba where he is now, beyond praise or criticism. But for his daughter i.e. me, this is such a big task, the happiness of which I cannot express in my words.
