Squadron Leader Mohana Singh

Indian Air Force Squadron Leader Mohana Singh has created history. In fact, she has become India’s first female fighter pilot to fly the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas. She has joined the ’18 Flying Bullets’ squadron operating the LCA Tejas. She became the first female fighter pilot to join the fighter squadron about 8 years ago. Mohana Singh was part of the initial trio of women fighter pilots in the Indian Air Force along with Squadron Leader Bhavana Kanth and Avani Chaturvedi. In the initial days, all three pilots flew many aircraft from the Air Force’s fighter fleet.

Mohan Singh did wonders

Currently, Bhawana Kanth and Avani Chaturvedi are flying Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jets in the western desert. Mohana Singh recently participated in the Tarang Shakti exercise in Jodhpur, where she took a historic flight of a Tejas along with three vice chiefs of the armed forces, while the other two vice chiefs, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani and Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan flew the trainer version along with two fighter pilots. However, since the government opened the fighter stream for women in 2019, the Indian Air Force now has around 20 women fighter pilots.

The chiefs of the three armies flew in Tejas

Let us tell you that recently the Deputy Chiefs of the Indian Air Force, Army and Navy flew in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas during the air exercise held in Jodhpur. Officials said that Air Force Deputy Chief Air Marshal AP Singh flew the main fighter aircraft, while Army Deputy Chief Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani and Navy Deputy Chief Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan flew in a two-seater aircraft. Tejas aircraft manufactured by ‘Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’ (HAL) is a powerful aircraft for air combat and offensive air support missions, while with its help military survey of any place and anti-ship operations can also be conducted.
