New Delhi. The second case of monkeypox virus infection has been reported in India. A person living in Malappuram, Kerala has been confirmed to be infected with the monkeypox virus. It is being told that this person has recently returned from Dubai. After returning, his health deteriorated. When some symptoms like monkeypox infection appeared in him, the doctors admitted him to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Manjeri and quarantined him. At present, the condition of this person is completely stable and he is being treated as per the guidelines made by the government.

After investigation, it has now been confirmed that the person is infected with the monkeypox virus. This is the second case of monkeypox virus infection in India. Earlier, a person in Delhi has been found infected with the monkeypox virus. That person also returned from a foreign trip some time ago. However, the monkeypox virus in this Delhi person has been identified as Clade 2 variant, which does not fall under the emergency status issued by the WHO, so the government says that there is no need to panic. While which variant of monkeypox has been found in the Kerala person has not been informed yet.
Let us tell you that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox a global emergency. A person infected with the monkeypox virus may complain of severe muscle pain along with high fever. In many cases, red rashes may also appear on the body. The affected person may also have fever from 5 days to 21 days. These symptoms can appear from 3 to 17 days after being affected by the virus. The central government has also recently issued an advisory regarding this disease.
