Monsoon knocked in the national capital, monsoon reached the whole country nine days ago

The monsoon general date in Delhi reached two days after June 27 and this normal date has spread nine days before July 8 in the remaining parts of the country. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Sunday.

According to IMD data, this is the first time since 2020 when the monsoon has spread so soon all over the country.

The monsoon usually reaches Kerala on June 1 and spreads across the country by July 8. Its return starts from Northwest India on September 17 and is completed by 15 October.

This year the monsoon reached Kerala on 24 May, which is the most early arrival in the Indian subcontinent after 2009. In 2009, the monsoon reached Kerala on 23 May.

Due to the following pressure mechanisms on the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the monsoon moved forward fast and reached Madhya Maharashtra and Northeast India including Mumbai by 29 May.

However, after this, the speed of the monsoon proceeded for about 18 days (from 29 May to 16 June) remained stable.

In later days, the monsoon gradually reached the remaining parts of the country, but its arrival in Delhi and surrounding areas was delayed. The reason for this was the active vertebrate winds in the region, which obstructed the flow of monsoon streams.
