After several days of restless wait and tears full prayers, Jinu Louis – a mother who recently got caught in legal trouble in Kuwait – finally returned home to give a final farewell to her son Shanta Shaiju. This emotional moment occurred in the morchari of Kattapna’s hospital, where Jinu first saw the body of his son. Everyone’s eyes became moist. Shanet, who was a resident of Vellara village in Ankara. He died in a bike accident near Chelarkovall on Tuesday last Tuesday. His body was kept in the morcha of a private hospital, as the family was waiting for the mother to return from Kuwait. Jinu was in custody in Kuwait due to the job scam, could return to India on Sunday evening.
Funeral and farewell
Shanet was cremated on Tuesday at St. John’s Jacobite Church Semeter in Olivewell, Ankara. When the body was brought home at around 10 am, a large number of heartbreaking people gathered to pay their last tributes.
Detention in Kuwait after job scam
Jinu Louis went to Kuwait for domestic work about two and a half months ago. However, there he faced harsh work conditions and the promised salary was not even paid. His health started deteriorating rapidly. When he complained to the agency, he was illegally detained at another place.
Reason for late return
When Jinu Louis was completing the legal formalities of returning to India last Monday, his journey was suddenly delayed due to the Kovid-19 sanctions and the situation like war arose in the region. His return was possible only with the joint efforts of the Kerala government, local MPs, Kuwait Malayali Association, and the migrant community of Anakara.
Mother’s return and home atmosphere
She landed at Nedumbssery Airport (Kochi) at 11 am on Sunday and reached Ankara by 4 pm.
On reaching home, the whole atmosphere was filled with mourning.
Shanet’s father Shyju and his friend Alan’s father Shibu (who died in the same accident), both were sitting in deep pain in the courtyard – trying to understand this unbearable damage.
