New Delhi. The central government has announced an increase in salaries, allowances and pension of former MPs of MPs. According to the notification issued by the government in this regard, the revised pay scale will be applicable from 1 April 2023. The government has decided to increase the salary of MPs after 5 years. The salary of MPs, which was earlier Rs 1 lakh per month, has now been increased to Rs 1 lakh 24 thousand per month. The daily allowances which used to get from 2 thousand rupees earlier have now been Rs 2,500.

Former MPs who used to get 25 thousand rupees per month as pension will now get 31 thousand rupees per month. Along with this, the MP who has been MPs twice or more times, has been increased to Rs 2500, which was Rs 2000 so far. Earlier, the salary, allowances and pension of MPs were increased in the year 2018. The salary and allowances of MPs have been increased on the basis of inflation rate and cost index set by the Reserve Bank of India.
MPs get 60 thousand rupees per month as office allowance. Along with this, 2 thousand daily allowance is also available for visit to your parliamentary constituency. Apart from this, allowance is given to MPs for use of phone and internet. MPs not only get government accommodation as well as 50 thousand units of free electricity annually. At the same time, they do not have to pay any money to use 4 thousand kiloliter water. A total of 34 air travel facilities are available with MPs and family in a year. While personally, you can travel in the first class of the train at any time, there is also MP quota for this.
