Mohammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, has not been successful in stopping the violence against Hindus in his country, but he is blaming former PM Sheikh Hasina for this. A statement has been issued from the office of Mohammad Yunus that during his meeting with India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh said that tension is being created due to the statements of Sheikh Hasina, who is living in India. Mohammad Yunus, while talking to Vikram Misri, also said that the relations between Bangladesh and India are very solid and close. Earlier, during a conversation with Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Jasimuddin, Vikram Misri had expressed concern over the ongoing violence and current situation against the minority Hindu community there.
Earlier on Sunday, Sheikh Hasina, while digitally addressing a meeting of supporters of her party Awami League in London, had fiercely targeted Bangladesh government’s chief advisor Mohammad Yunus. Sheikh Hasina had called Mohammad Yunus a fascist. He had said that the administration of Mohammad Yunus allows terrorists and radicals to carry out their activities without any restriction. Sheikh Hasina had said that after August 5, 2024, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are continuously being attacked in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina had also said that democratic rights have also been abolished in Bangladesh. He had said that Mohammad Yunus is spoiling the achievements made by his government.
The students’ movement against Sheikh Hasina started from the beginning of this year. More than 400 people had lost their lives during that period. After this, on August 5, 2024, the mob attacked Sheikh Hasina’s official residence. Because of which Sheikh Hasina had to run away to save her life and took refuge in India. After which the army captured power in Bangladesh and then an interim government was formed. Whose chief advisor was Mohammad Yunus. Who were in America before this. Mohammad Yunus established Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. He also received the Nobel Peace Prize.
