In 2011, a Chicago court convicted him of helping Lashkar-e-Taiba and plotting an attack on a Denmark newspaper. However, he was acquitted of the charge of directly involved in the Mumbai attacks. Despite this, India continued the demand for his extradition. Rana was sentenced to 14 years in the US, which he completed. After the latest decision of the US Supreme Court, the way for Rana’s extradition has been cleared and now he is being to India. In India, Rana will face serious allegations like criminal conspiracy, terrorism and murder.
David Headley played an important role in the Mumbai attacks.
David Headley is serving sentence in America
David Headley, whose real name is Dawood Saeed Gilani, is a Pakistani-American terrorist, who played an important role in the Mumbai attacks. Headley visited Mumbai 5 times between 2006 and 2008 and recorded video of targets of Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, Leopold Cafe and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. He gave information related to these places to the handlers of Lashkar-e-Taiba, on the basis of which he was attacked. Headley was arrested in October 2009 at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
Headley signed an agreement with the US authorities, in which he reduced his sentence in exchange for cooperation in the trial. In March 2010, Headley accepted all the 12 allegations including allegations of bombing, murder and supporting terrorism in public places in India. In 2013, Headley was sentenced to 35 years in jail. Under this agreement, it cannot be extradited to India. Headley testified in Rana’s trial and revealed his activities with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Currently Headley is serving his sentence in a US jail, which is ranked confidential.
Hafiz Saeed is considered the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks.
Hafiz Saeed is in custody in Pakistan
Hafiz Saeed is the founder of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and is considered the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks on 26 November 208. Sajid Majeed may be hidden in Pakistan
Sajid Majeed, also known by names like Sajid Mir, Wasi, Ibrahim and Mohammad Arshad Awan, is a senior commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and handles its ‘India setup’. He was born in 1976. According to Lakhvi’s profile, her height is 6 feet, color blonde, hair is black and underwent plastic surgery in 2008. He lives on the Garrison Golf Club in Lahore, a dirty sewer, airport road. Her father’s name is Abdul Majeed and the passport number is 381676 (named after Arshad Awan). Majeed was among the main planners of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Majeed was the main handler of David Headley and gave him financial and logistic assistance. He gave training and briefing to 10 terrorists and was probably present in Lashkar’s control room in Karachi during the attack. India has asked for samples of his voice. His colleagues are Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, Abu Kahfa, Abu Anas, Muzammil Butt and Tawwur Hussain Rana. He is an accused in the NIA case 04/2009 and 209 Denmark attack conspiracy.
