About 19 passengers are said to be injured in this accident, who have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. The work of clearing the tracks is also being done by the Railway Department.

Whereas BJP leader RP Singh termed this train accident as very unfortunate and said that the Central Government is concerned about it. However, he expressed concern that for some time now there have been reports of conspiracies to derail trains or cause accidents. He expressed hope that the state governments will also take cognizance of such incidents and work to stop them.
