Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to Naib Saini and his council of ministers in a ceremony organized at Dussehra ground in Sector 5, Panchkula.
BJP is forming the government for the third consecutive time by winning 48 out of 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections. Congress has got 37 seats.
Many big names were present on the stage during the ceremony, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh as well as Union ministers like Nitin Gadkari and Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
On this occasion, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other BJP leaders Arvind Kumar Sharma, Shyam Singh Rana, Ranbir Singh Gangwa and Chief Ministers of Krishna Bedi states were also present.
Other NDA leaders like Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde were also present in Panchkula.
54-year-old Saini was unanimously elected leader of the BJP legislature party in a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the party office in Panchkula on Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that after this ceremony, an important meeting of NDA will be held in Chandigarh from 3 pm to 5 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting in Chandigarh on Thursday. This meeting will coincide with the swearing-in ceremony of future Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini.
Let us tell you that a few hours before the ceremony, Saini visited Valmiki Bhawan and offered prayers at the Gurudwara and Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula. He told reporters that the new BJP government will work towards taking Haryana forward at a rapid pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
On the results of the assembly elections, he said that the people of Haryana have shown confidence in the policies of the Modi government. In response to a question, Saini said that BJP’s resolution letter will be fully implemented.
“Look at our 2014 Sankalp Patra and 2019 Sankalp Patra, we implemented them completely and now this Sankalp Patra will also be implemented by our government,” he said.
It may be noted that in the assembly elections held on October 5, BJP formed the government in Haryana for the unprecedented third time by winning 48 seats in the 90-member assembly. Congress got 37 seats.
Let us tell you that this time, in a departure from tradition, BJP had announced that if the party returns to power in Haryana after the assembly elections, then Saini will remain the Chief Minister.
Saini, the OBC face of the party, took over as the Chief Minister of Haryana in March, replacing Manohar Lal Khattar. He won the Ladwa assembly seat in Kurukshetra district by a margin of 16,054 votes.
Saini was elevated from Haryana BJP president to chief minister in March when the party was facing anti-incumbency after Khattar’s nine-and-a-half-year tenure and issues over farmers’ issues, unemployment, Agneepath scheme, inflation and law and order. Was facing attacks from the opposition.
This move of BJP was successful and Saini led BJP to victory, and defied the exit poll’s prediction of a clear victory of Congress.
