New Delhi. Two major decisions related to public interest were taken at the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Giving information after the meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Union Cabinet has approved the construction of a new airport in Kota -Dabondi, Rajasthan. The construction of this airport will cost Rs 1507 crore. Apart from this, the proposal to construct a six lane access-controlled ring road in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in Odisha has also passed in the Modi cabinet. It will cost Rs 8,307 crore to complete this road project.

Regarding the Kota Airport, the Union Minister said that the airport at present is absolutely middle of the city. While the new airport will be constructed near Kota Deoli bypass. A 3200 meter runway will be built in it. The land has been identified for the airport and a target has been set to build it in two years. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on the six -lane capital region ring road to be built at a cost of 8,307.74 crore in Odisha, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar are practically twin cities, in the middle. Cuttack is one of the oldest cities which is about 5000 years old. Bhubaneswar later became the capital. The part of NH-16 from Kolkata which comes out of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar is very crowded on that section. This ring road was being demanded for a long time.

He said, it is proposed to develop the project as a 6-lane access-controlled greenfield highway. The project will provide significant benefits to Odisha and other eastern states by removing heavy commercial traffic from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha cities. This is a very important project and the Prime Minister’s vision is for the development of all our states located in Eastern India.
