A Delhi court postponed its decision to take cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the ‘National Herald’ case. Sources in the court said that the hearing of the case has now been listed for some explanation for August 7 and 8.
Subsequently, the court will decide the date of order to take cognizance. The Enforcement Directorate filed a charge sheet against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda, Sunil Bhandari, Young Indian and Dotex Merchandise.
Earlier, Special Judge Vishal Gogane had reserved his order on 15 July to take cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the ‘National Herald’ case.
The court was listening to the Enforcement Directorate and the arguments of the accused on a daily basis at the point of cognizance from July 2.
The ED has accused Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, late Congress leaders Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes as well as Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda and a private company ‘Young Indian’ that they have cheated and cheated on the ‘National Herald’ newspaper publishing company ‘Associated Journal Limited’ (AJL) for deception and funds for deception.
The Directorate alleges that the Gandhi family had 76 percent shares of ‘Young Indian’ and the company fraudulently grabbed AJL’s property in exchange for loans of Rs 90 crore. The charge sheet includes the names of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Suman Dubey, Sunil Bhandari, Young Indian and Dotex Merchandise Private Limited.
