New Delhi. Differences have once again emerged between Congress and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, after Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge took a U-turn on the issue of Section 370, Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra said that no demand for restoration of Section 370 was raised in the recently passed resolution in the Legislative Assembly, even That there was no mention of this in it. On the other hand, Omar Abdullah’s party National Conference is furious over this attitude of its ally Congress. NC has launched a scathing attack on Congress.
National Conference MP Agha Ruhulla hit back at Karra’s statement and said that Congress should clarify its stand on the issue of restoration of Article 370. No one has the right to give wrong information regarding the resolution passed in the Assembly. Earlier, Congress leader Karra said in his statement that BJP is misleading people towards Congress for its political gains on Article 370. After the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 370, our main demand is to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Let us tell you that in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Omar Abdullah’s National Conference and Congress had contested together. The National Conference, in its election manifesto, had talked about the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, BJP has been continuously attacking Congress. BJP had alleged that through Article 370, the National Conference wants to promote terrorism and infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir again and Congress is supporting it in this. This issue, which started with Jammu and Kashmir elections, is being raised vigorously by BJP in Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections also.
