India’s star javelin throw (javelin thrower) player Neeraj Chopra has identified a major flaw in his technology, which is continuously preventing them from throwing spears for more than 90 meters. Neeraj said that while throwing a spear in the competitions, he bows a lot on his left side, which ruins his power and energy. This problem does not occur during training, but this happens due to additional efforts in the competition.
Neeraj, who is a two -time Olympic medalist. He said during the launch of the Under Armor Store in Gurugram, “I have recognized my weakness. I bow down to the left while throwing a spear. We have to work on it. This does not happen in training, but it happens due to additional emphasis in the competition.”
His coach, Jain Jelleshi, who is the world record holder, also focused on this flaw and is insisting on improving it. Neeraj said that he is also working on his run-up speed and cross-step, which was good in some competitions such as Paris and Doha Diamond League, but was affected by wind in Bengaluru and Ostrava.
Neeraj crossed the 90.23 meters in the Doha Diamond League this year by throwing a throw of 90 meters, but he wants to further regularize it. “I am constantly throwing around 88-89 meters, but 90 meters need to be achieved again and again,” he said. His next major goal is to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championship to be held on 13-21 September 2025 in Tokyo. For this, he will train with his coach for 57 days in the Czech Republic.
Neeraj recently won with an 86.18 meter throw at Neeraj Chopra Classic held in Bengaluru, where he was encouraged by more than 15,000 spectators. In the event, his family first saw him live, which he would always remember.
