A big gift is going to be found soon to further strengthen the relations between India and Nepal. Now soon a direct train service from New Delhi to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, may start. For this, the scheme of laying a 136 km long new railway line from Raxaul to Kathmandu in Bihar has reached the final stage.
The journey will not only be easy with this project, but will also strengthen trade and cultural connection between India and Nepal.
25,000 crore cost, 13 stations will be on the way
This railway line will be built at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore and will include 13 railway stations. Raxaul is already directly connected to Delhi, in such a situation, direct train service from Delhi to Kathmandu will be started after the new railway line is built.
Last survey starts, report will be completed in one year
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited has started the final spatial survey (FLS) of this railway project. The survey will cost around Rs 37 crore and it will be completed in a year. After this, DPR (detailed project report) will be prepared, then construction work will be started by issuing tenders.
The journey from Raxaul to Kathmandu will be in just 2-3 hours
Right now the journey from Raxaul to Kathmandu by road is covered in 5 hours, but after the railway line is ready, this distance can be completed in 2 to 3 hours. This will also give a new speed to the Indo-Nepal trade.
Railway Engineering Department reported
Mantu Kumar, Secretary, Deputy CVO (Engineering) of East Central Railway, released the report, stating that the final survey is going on for the availability of feasibility and land. The project has been working fast since the beginning.
