On Monday morning, many residents of Delhi were shocked by a strong tremor after a 4.0 magnitude earthquake in the national capital and surrounding areas. Due to strong tremors, panic spread among the people and they came out of their homes.
Anil Kumar, a resident of Sita Ram Bazar, said that he never felt such shocks before. Kumar said, “When I got up, I felt very fast vibration and I was scared. I and my wife immediately woke up my child and ran out.”
He said, “I am a heart patient, so I got more nervous.”
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the lake park area of Dhaula Kuan and some people heard a loud voice due to the land shaking.
Sundar Lal, another resident of Sita Ram Bazaar, initially understood that it is a noise of monkeys on the roof. He said, “At first we felt that there was noise of monkeys on our roof, but then we realized that this earthquake is, so we all ran out.”
He said, “It was a very powerful earthquake and we were all scared. But thankfully it did not last long.”
The National Center for Sisamology reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of five kilometers at 5:36 am. There is no immediate news of any kind of damage or injury.
Anil, a resident of Nehru Nagar, told PTI videos that as soon as he felt the earthquake, he ran out of the house with his two -year -old daughter.
He said, “There were very loud sounds and loud shocks. I and my wife got very scared. First we picked up our daughter and ran out.”
