📍 Lucknow zoo closed for 7 days
The Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Park of Lucknow has been closed from 14 May to 20 May 2025 to prevent the infection from spreading. During this time all animals will be strictly monitored.
Aditi Sharma, director of the zoo, said that the treatment of animals will be started immediately if any symptoms appear. The health team has been alerted.
🛑 CM Yogi convened emergency meeting, strict instructions
After the incident in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called an emergency meeting. In the meeting, he gave instructions to alert in all zoos, bird sanctuaries and wetland regions of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the safety of animals is the highest priority and special attention should be paid to cleanliness, sanitization.

Regular checking of animals and intensive monitoring of their food items
Employees will be given ppe kit and safety equipment
