The deadline for making changes in the Aadhaar card has now been extended to December 14. Till this date, you can make necessary changes in the Aadhaar card without any fee. Earlier this deadline was September 14, which has now been extended.
Changes in name, address, gender and date of birth can be made through My Aadhaar portal and My Aadhaar app. This facility is free through online medium.
How to update Aadhaar online:
UIDAI website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in Go to . Select the ‘Aadhaar Update’ option on the homepage. If the address needs to be changed, select the ‘Update Address’ option. Enter the registered mobile number and generate OTP. Upload a copy of the identity and residence proof. You can provide passport, voter card, PAN card, passbook, electricity bill, phone bill, rent agreement, ration card, gas connection bill or other government documents. Select the ‘Document Update’ option, then upload the requested document. After this, you will get a URN number (Update Request Number), through which you can track the status of your update.

If you need to update your mobile number, email, fingerprint or iris scan, you will have to visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. A fee of Rs 50 will be charged here.
