New Delhi. If you live in Delhi or are planning to take a train from Delhi to Katra to have darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi, then this news is for you. Railways has canceled Vande Bharat Express running between New Delhi and Shrimata Vaishno Devi Katra station for the next 50 days. Vande Bharat train number (22439/40) will remain canceled from today i.e. from 16 January to 6 March 2025. Railways has cited remodeling of Jammu Tawi yard as the reason behind this. However, passengers need not worry too much as the second Vande Bharat train number (22477/78) will continue to run smoothly.
At present, two Vande Bharat trains run from New Delhi to Katra and from Katra to New Delhi throughout the week except Wednesday. Of these, train number (22439/40) has been cancelled. Train number 22439 departs from New Delhi Railway Station at 6 am and reaches Shrimata Vaishno Devi Katra Station at 2:05 pm. This train has stoppages at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Pathankot and Jammu Tawi stations. In return, train number 22440 departs from Shrimata Vaishno Devi Katra station at 2:55 pm and reaches New Delhi at 11 pm. Railways has canceled both of this trains.

At present, only one Vande Bharat train number (22477/78) is left for going from New Delhi to Vaishno Devi and back. Train number 22478 leaves Katra station at 5.50 am and reaches New Delhi at 2 pm. Train number 22477 leaves from New Delhi at 3 pm and reaches Katra at 11:15 pm. No change has been made in the schedule of this train. On the other hand, the first snowfall of this season has started on the way to Mata Vaishni Devi. Amidst the snow showers, devotees are reaching the building to have the darshan of Mata Rani.
