New Delhi. 18 people died in a stampede on Saturday night at New Delhi railway station. 25 other people are said to be injured. Railways have formed a 2 -member committee for a high -level inquiry into the incident. Railways have announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 2.5 lakh to the injured. Those who are minor injured in the stampede will be given compensation of Rs 1 lakh from the railway. In the stampede at New Delhi railway station, 9 people of Bihar lost their lives. At the same time, 8 passengers from Delhi and 1 passenger from Haryana have died.

Eyewitnesses told the media about the stampede at New Delhi railway station that the accident took place at around 9.30 pm. According to eyewitnesses, 2 trains were canceled. The crowd of their passengers was already gathered. Then the railway employees announced that the train on platform number 12 of New Delhi railway station will come at platform number 16. After this information, a crowd of passengers ran and stamped. According to eyewitnesses, there were RPF personnel to control the huge crowd at New Delhi railway station, but the number of people was very high.
