The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took Tawwur Hussain Rana, the main accused in the Mumbai attacks on Friday, will be interrogated in detail to locate the entire conspiracy behind the 26/11 terror attack.
Rana was brought from the US to India on Thursday and was formally produced in the NIA special court at Patiala House after arresting him when he arrived at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here.
The court sent Rana to 18 -day NIA custody on Thursday, after which he was brought to the NIA headquarters from the Patiala House court premises in the midst of heavy security arrangements.
Officials said that Rana will be placed in a very safe cell inside the headquarters of the Anti -Terrorism Agency at CGO Complex here.
Soon after the court order, a statement issued by the NIA said, “Rana will be in NIA custody for 18 days, during which the NIA will be interrogated by him in detail to detect the entire conspiracy behind the fierce attacks of 2008. A total of 166 people were killed in this attack and more than 238 people were injured.
The statement said that the NIA took him into custody on the order of a special court in Delhi.
