The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided 18 places in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in a case of terrorist conspiracy on Thursday. Raids of suspects have been conducted since morning, nine in Punjab, seven in Haryana and two places in Uttar Pradesh since morning.
During the raids being conducted on the basis of specific input, the NIA team is being assisted by the state police forces of the three states.
The NIA has already conducted raids in Punjab regarding the alleged terrorist network allegedly associated with pro-Khalistan groups active in India and abroad and other anti-national elements.
The Anti -Terrorism Agency is investigating a major conspiracy related to efforts to revive terrorism through targeted attacks in Punjab. Earlier on June 22, the NIA filed a charge sheet against Babbar Khalsa International (BKL) terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and Khunkhar gangster Jatinder Singh in the Punjab terror conspiracy case.
The NIA said in a statement, Jatinder Singh alias Joti, who hails from Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was arrested by the NIA on 23 December 2024 from Mumbai.
The NIA found during the investigation that Jatinder was involved in the purchase and supply of illegal weapons to gangsters from Punjab from Madhya Pradesh. He helped in the supply of arms at the grassroots level.

He was helping the grassroots supply to the ground operatives of Batala, a close aide of nominated individual terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.
Batala -based allies were coordinating the operation of Jatinder in India. In Punjab, weapons were being used by the Batala operatives to promote BKI criminal-attributed activities. Baljeet had already been arrested and charges were framed against him. The accused were using virtual numbs and encrypted applications to avoid keeping their weapons.
