New Delhi. The application has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an order for diplomatic intervention to save Kerala nurse Priya, convicted on charges of murder in Yemen. This PIL has been filed by an organization called Sev Nimisha Priya International Action Council. The petition also mentions the matter of blood money. The court has been requested to direct the Government of India for diplomatic intervention in this matter. The petition will be heard in the apex court on Monday 14 July. The Yemen court has fixed July 16 to hang Nimisha.
Giving information before the Supreme Court regarding the petition, senior advocate Subhash Chandran said that Nimisha can be forgiven by the death sentence by giving blood money. He said that the court of Yemen has rejected Nimisha’s application but the path of blood money is still open. Let us tell you that under Sharia law, the family of the deceased is demanded for apology from them, which is called blood money. If the family of the deceased agrees to take money, the convict gets forgiveness.
Let us tell you that Nimisha is accused of killing Talal Abdo Mehdi, a resident of Yemen. Nimisha opened a clinic in Yemen with Talal, but later Talal began to exploit Nimisha. He also snatched Nimisha’s passport. According to Nimisha, Talal also claimed to marry her through fake documents. Fed up with all this, one day Nimisha injected unconscious thinking to Talal that she would go after getting her passport, but Talal died due to excess dose.
