Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced major changes in the toll system. The government is now going to bring a new tolling policy for the National Highway, which will ease and save the journey of private vehicles. This new toll policy will be implemented before 1 April 2025.
What is the new toll pass system?
Now the hassle of paying every time on the toll is over! The government is considering bringing a one-time payment system, in which Fastag users will be given an annual pass.

Once paid ₹ 3000, it will be valid throughout the year.
With this, you will be able to travel on any national highway and expressway without paying toll.
This will save time and provide relief from long queues on toll plazas.

Government’s plan and future planning
The current toll income of NHAI is ₹ 55,000 crore, which is estimated to reach ₹ 1.40 lakh crore in the next two years.
The government has a big project at a cost of ₹ 5 lakh crore, of which ₹ 2.80 lakh crore will be available.
Nitin Gadkari said that the new policy will provide people to cross toll and highway infrastructure will also be improved in future.
