When the Aam Aadmi Party contested the last assembly elections in Punjab, it was promised that if the government was formed in Punjab, every woman would be given Rs 1000 every month. The government has been formed in Punjab, but this promise has not been fulfilled till now. CM Bhagwant Mann had announced that now an amount of Rs 1100 will be given, but that too was not found.
Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, while presenting the budget, has not announced a plan to give money to women every month.
Punjab has 1 crore women over 18 years of age. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in the year 2022. After that the budget came 3 times, but it was not announced to give 1000 rupees to women every month. This time the fourth budget also brought Bhagwant Maan government, but there is no announcement for women. Bhagwant Maan Sarkar did not impose new tax in the budget and said that a special program will be run in Punjab to face the challenge of drugs. Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa has targeted the Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa for not giving money to women by Bhagwant Maan government. Bajwa said that the Aam Aadmi Party government should be ready to give women dues. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party had promised that women would be given money if the government is formed in Punjab.
The disappointment of women of Punjab can also increase due to this, because the BJP government of the neighboring state of Haryana has funded women every month in its budget. The same thing in Delhi has also announced a scheme to give Rs 2500 to poor women every month in the budget. At the same time, the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh, another neighboring state of Punjab, has also announced the financial assistance of women. The special thing is that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announced in May 2024 that the women of the state will now get Rs 1100 every month, but they have not been given so far.
