Now foreign devotees will also be able to give donations openly, Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan gets FCRA license

The Union Home Ministry has licensed the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act i.e. FCRA so that it can get money from abroad. Sources gave this information on Saturday. The temple is currently being managed by a court, which has constituted a management committee.

Sources said that this temple has been licensed under FCRA, 2010. The current management committee applied for FCRA license. This temple was earlier managed by a family of priests and was under private management. The Ministry of Home Affairs has given a license to get foreign funds under FCRA after appropriate application and court approval.

Sources said that as per the application, the temple received a lot of foreign currency in its treasury and is keen to accept donations from abroad. According to the law, all NGOs receiving foreign donations have to register under FCRA.
