On late payment of electricity bill, customers have to pay late fee surcharge (DPS). But now removal of this rule is being considered. It has been told that if a consumer does not pay the electricity bill on the stipulated deadline, then he is charged an additional fee which is called late fee surcharge.
Petition has been filed in Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission
It has been informed that a petition has been filed by the company in Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission in which it has been asked to remove DPS from the electricity bill. If a person does not pay the electricity bill on time then DPS is imposed.
Now gradually smart prepaid meters are being installed in many areas in Bihar. Consumers already deposit the amount in smart prepaid meters. In such a situation, timing no longer has any importance, hence a petition has been filed to remove it.
