The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has dismissed reports outright that there was a leakage of radiation from any nuclear plant in Pakistan. This explanation came after rumors that started spreading on social media after the missile attacks by India under “Operation Sindoor”.
IAEA spokesman Frederick Dahl clarified, “We are aware of those reports. According to the information available with IAEA, no radiation leakage or emission has been made from any nuclear plant in Pakistan.”
Indian Air Force Air Marshal A.K. Bharti also dismissed these allegations, saying, “We did not target the grocery hills or any nuclear establishment. In fact, we did not know that there is any nuclear facility there.”
India’s Foreign Ministry also made it clear that India’s action was completely traditional and had no relation with nuclear weapons or facilities. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Our military action was limited to traditional weapons. The government of Pakistan has also denied these rumors.”
This rumor on social media intensified when some flight tracking websites showed the aircraft of the US Energy Department over Pakistan. These aircraft are usually used in nuclear emergency conditions. However, these claims were neither confirmed nor any concrete evidence was found.
